LQ Radio Interview #2 – James Turner and Dee-Ann LeBlanc
In this edition of the LQ Radio Interview Series we have James Turner and Dee-Ann LeBlanc, former editors for LinuxWorld Magazine. In the interview, they go into what exactly lead up to their decision to leave Sys-Con, their comments on the Free Software Magazine interview with Fuat, exactly who ended up stepping down and where some of them have found new homes. I’d like to thank Dee-Ann and James both for being on the show. Note that in addition to the .ogg and .mp3, you can also use BitTorrent.

James Turner and Dee-Ann LeBlanc Interviewed
Just posted an interview with James Turner and Dee-Ann LeBlanc, who recently stepped down from Sys-Con. The levels came …
I’m not seeing the ogg version anywhere on the announcement.
To get the ogg, replace .mp3 with .ogg.

Thanks, I was just wondering “How do I get the .ogg instead?”

Hi Jeremy,
Some feedback for you. The first show was a bit dodgy in the audio department and I didnt end up listening to all of it. The mods didn’t really sound hugely enthusiastic and I noticed they required several prompts to get them to make a comment of any note. If the format is to succeed I would suggest discussions amongst mods who are a little more vocal. Also, I think it might work better if you exert a bit more of a controlling influence over the proceedings. The main reason for this is that the lag experienced does not seem to lend itself well to questions thrown out into the open. Therefore if they are directed at one individual and then the second is asked for comment after that it might work better.
The second “O’Gara” debate was much better and I found it very interesting. The audio had improved dramatically as had the lag. Not sure what you did but I’m happy to say it worked.
In terms of interviewees and who I would like to hear being interviewed, I would very much like to hear from someone big at Xandros and some searching questions being asked.
Regards
Chris
Could I suggest getting a short interview with Brazil’s Minister of Culture, Gilberto Gil. He’s recently been in Sweden to receive the 2005 Polar Prize for his work as a musician. He seems to be a fan of F/OSS and of Creative Commons and spoke of both just before the award.
I was wondering why the mp3 format was chosen rather than oggvorbis?
fancypiper,
The show is available in both mp3 and ogg format. The mp3 is in the RSS enclosure as that’s what most podcatchers expect.

A Little More MySQL Info (but I’m not linking)
I found a little more information about the recent MySQL/Innobase topic. Why am I not going to post the link? …
To get ogg from mp3 you have to instal ogg vorbis codec ang encoder
